The organization has pioneered strategies to promote evidence-based maternity care, improvement of maternity care policy and quality, and maternity care shared decision making in the United States.

National Newborn Screening & Genetics Resource Center - Provides information and resources in the area of newborn screening.
Breastfeeding support
La Leche League (LLL) - Provides education, information, support and encouragement to women and people who want to breastfeed.
Kelly Mom - An online resource with easily accessible information on breastfeeding.
Consumer organizations
Citizens for Midwifery - The only national consumer-based group promoting the Midwives Model of Care. Promotes citizen and consumer awareness of midwifery and childbirth issues through networking and information sharing.
Vaginal Birth After Cesarean (VBAC)
New Hampshire midwives attend VBAC with certain restrictions, with some variation between Certified Professional Midwives and Certified Nurse Midwives.
