Philosophy of Business
Lionheart Midwifery aims to provide family centered, evidence-based care to all people with low-risk pregnancies, to empower and support you through your childbearing years, and to give you the best possible start toward parenthood. Lionheart Midwifery is a full-spectrum midwifery practice providing holistic care through the childbearing years. I provide evidence-based care centered on informed decision making, personal empowerment, and education. I will offer you ethical care with the foundations of autonomy, control, privacy, and personal attention. I am committed to fully informing you of all available options, discussing the pros and cons of each, and making an individualized care plan with you and your family. Services include: Well-person care, Preconception counseling, IUI/ICI, Prenatal-Birth-Postpartum care, Newborn care to 6 weeks, Doula and Monitrice care for in-hospital births. Please visit my website to read more details about each service.
I believe that everyone should have access to safe and respectful care. I am committed to serving families of all backgrounds and to making midwifery care available to more people. I feel called to give back to my local community as well as the greater midwifery community, and to drive social change for midwives and underserved populations. Because people often experience better outcomes in community settings than in hospitals, I am committed to increasing access to high-quality maternity care in homes and freestanding birth centers. I serve a wide variety of families; no two people have the same needs or experience the same challenges. I am committed to learning and growing in ways that will help me connect more authentically with my clients. As a military spouse, I understand the unique nature of military life and families – military and cash pay discounts are available.
Education and Background
I am a New Hampshire Certified Midwife and a nationally recognized Certified Professional Midwife having earned my degree in midwifery from Midwives College of Utah. Along with rigorous didactic study, I completed over 3,000 clinical training hours in multiple clinical settings around the country. Prior to pursing the healing arts and midwifery, I spent 17 years working as an engineer, project manager and business developer in more than 20 countries around the world. This work gave me exposure to many business models while overseeing multiple projects and building teams bringing many cultures, backgrounds and personality types together.
I am intensely committed to ending discrimination. I believe all people are equal and should be celebrated for their diversity. I actively work to eliminate discrimination based on race, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, sexuality, physical ability, size, religion, mental health experience, intellectual ability, age, and other identities. If you identify as a person of an oppressed or underserved population, know that I am committed to making this world a better place for you. All people and families are welcomed and embraced in this practice.
