This newborn resuscitation workshop with Nell Tharpe CNM is a time of immersion in the latest information, skills practice, and recommendations for newborn resuscitation with a focus on their application in the home or birth center setting. The workshop provides midwives with an opportunity to develop skills and gain competence and confidence in caring for the newly born infant in a gentle and physiologic manner, as well as providing emergency care, and accessing a higher level of service for treatment of newborns that need extra help. Participants for this workshop must

Study the entire Textbook of Neonatal Resuscitation, 7th Edition

Take the AAP on-line NRP tests (see the NRP handout for detailed steps)

Perform the on-line eSimulations and evaluations

Sign up for the hands-on course prior to the workshop in 2 places:

On the NRP website (look for the NRP for Midwives course by date), and

On the Eventbrite site (for hands-on course sign-up and payment)

The workshop will run from 9 am - 4 pm. Participants are expected to arrive by 8:45 am to sign in and get settled so we can begin promptly at 9 am.
