Day One - AP Midwifery Skills
Advanced fetal monitoring, out-of-hospital NST, and fluid assessment
Shoulder dystocia prevention and management with hands on mannequin practice and role play
Internal fetal head positioning & re-positioning; cervical lip diagnosis & treatment
Non-pharmaceutical cervical ripening & labor induction including herbs, oils, homeopathics, natural prostaglandins & oxytocin release, and bulb foley placement
Day Two - Hemorrhage and Suturing
Hemorrhage diagnosis & treatment
Estimating blood loss
Preventing tears
Performing episiotomy
Suturing – Including a 4 hour hands-on session on repairing lacerations including labial, clitoral hood, & 3rd degree extension
Day Three - Twins, Breech, & ECV
Screening for twins and breech in your practice
The skill of palpation - don't miss the breech
Review of mother-led turning techniques
Diagnosed 'high risk', now what? and informed decision-making with your clients
Managing a twin pregnancy from diagnosis to delivery
Timing for twin births; knowing when to act
Gentle External Breech Version (ECV) in pregnancy
