A 4-Week Comprehensive Homebirth Education for the Seacoast of NH and southern ME. Classes take place between November 5 - December 3 on Sundays from 2-4:30.
We know you probably have some fears, anxieties, and a lot of questions about your pregnancy and your upcoming birth. As certified and experienced birth doulas and childbirth educators, we have a lot of information, guidance, and encouragement to offer. We’ve created this series so that you will be prepared for whatever may come your way on the day your child is born and the days immediately after.
We believe that childbirth education should be comprehensive, interactive, and fun. This series will offer you a wealth of good information, help you develop a toolbox of effective comfort techniques, help your partner gain confidence in supporting you, and provide you with knowledge of the birth process so you can trust labor and trust yourself. We want you to leave this series with great information as well as excitement about this momentous occasion in your life!
The class will take place in a comfortable setting, and with 2-5 other couples in the series, you will have the opportunity to meet other parents-to-be who have a similar vision for their births while still being in an intimate enough setting to ask questions and practice hands-on techniques.
We have seen what a profound impact birthing experiences can have on the rest of a family’s life together and, through this home birth class series, we strive to help families prepare for a birth experience in which they feel strong, confident, and trusted.
We hope you’ll join us and we look forward to meeting you! ~ Taylor & Jo
Taylor is a certified birth doula and childbirth educator with Doula Trainings International, as well as a doula educator with the same organization. She is the leader of ICAN of the Seacoast (International Cesarean Awareness Network). Taylor is also the co-founder of New Mama Project. She has attended home births as a doula and birthed her 3rd child at home, after a primary cesarean and an un-medicated hospital VBAC. She believes strongly in evidence-based support for birthing families, the autonomy of birthing families, and radical love and support for them as they walk the path into parenthood.
Jo Kilburn has been a birth doula and childbirth educator for 15 years. She had both her daughters at home and after 13 years in San Diego attending births in hospitals, birth centers and home, now only works with home birthing families. She is the admin for the FB page, Seacoast Birth Network, and on the board of Portlands Community Doula Birth Program. She is passionate about educating birthing families giving them knowledge and support that can elevate their birthing experience.
