I see birth as a normal, healthy physical, social, and emotional process, and I expect it to be so throughout your experience with me. However I recognize that complications can arise during pregnancy and birth, and when they do it is my job to restore normalcy when possible, and when not possible, manage the complication or get you to an appropriate medical care provider and continue to support you. Most important of all, I believe *you* should be in control. I'll give you information on all of your options, and then support your decisions. Each birth is unique.  I will work hard to make this birth exactly the experience you want it to be.

I believe your relationship with me is very significant and can impact your birth experience.  It is important to me that you are comfortable with me.  I hope we will become good friends through your pregnancy.

I am a nationally Certified Professional Midwife and state-licensed in NH.  I have extensive experience in natural, out-of-hospital birth having done a dual apprenticeship at both a birth center and with a rural midwife.  I have attended 200 births as either the primary midwife or in an assistant role.  I also have 12 years experience as a massage therapist and 8 years experience as an EMT.  I have worked as a doula and as a instructor of student midwives for the Midwives College of Utah.  I am a mother of 5 children, four of whom were born at home.
