Amy Healey, NHCM, CPM
Amy
presently serves as primary midwife for First Moments Midwifery in Hillsboro,
NH. Her background includes La Leche League Leader Accreditation (La Leche League,
International), Certified Childbirth Education Certification (Association for
Childbirth at Home, International and Birth Works, Inc.), Postpartum Care Service
Accreditation (National Association of Postpartum Care Services), Emergency Medical
Technician-Basic Level (National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians),
and Texas Midwife Documentation (Texas Department of Health). She began attending
births in 1981 and later received her training at Casa de Nacimiento, a bilingual
birth center in El Paso, TX and at Victoria Jubilee Hospital in Kingston, Jamaica.
She is a mother and wife, midwife, and grandmother. She is also a Dean's List
student at the New Hampshire Technical Institute in Concord, NH pursuing a nursing
degree.
First
Moments Midwifery offers a quiet practice, office and exam room centrally located
between Concord and Keene. Well-woman and maternity care services are provided
to those who are seeking a midwife model of care as a standard for their healthcare.
In keeping with the tradition of midwives, First Moments specializes in childbirth
attendance at home, allowing women and their families the choice to remain home
when labor begins. Amy sees her role as a facilitator- able to assess needs and
support accordingly-and she qualifies through a combination of life experience,
professional training, and acquired interpersonal skills.
